Privacy Policy
AI Talk Assistant ("the Service") values your privacy. This policy is effective as of August 21, 2026.
🔒 Key Summary
- No sign-up or login: We do not collect any account information such as your name, email, or phone number, and we cannot identify individual users or determine whose conversations these are.
- Conversation content stays on your device: Collected conversation content is stored only in your device's internal storage and is not stored on our servers.
- Personal information is masked on your device first: Phone numbers, emails, account numbers, national ID numbers and addresses are automatically masked before they leave your device, so the originals are never sent to our servers or to Google. Only the masked text is processed temporarily for summarization, and our servers do not store it. (See section 2 for how chat room names and sender display names are handled.)
1. Information We Process and Why
The Service operates anonymously without sign-up and does not collect account information that identifies you, such as your name, email, or phone number. We process the following:
| Category | Items | Purpose | Retention |
| Notification (conversation) content | Chat room name, sender display name, message content, timestamps | Provide AI summary and deleted-message viewing | Stored only on your device (deleted when the app is uninstalled). See section 2 for how summary requests are handled |
| Device / technical info | Device identifier, app version, OS version, device model | Notices, version checks, responding to inquiries, push notifications, usage limits | During service operation |
| Push notifications | FCM push token | Sending notices and event notifications | Until notifications are disabled or the app is uninstalled |
| Advertising identifiers | Advertising ID (ADID / IDFA), device information, coarse IP-based location | Ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention (collected directly by ad providers) | Per each ad provider's policy |
| App usage analytics | Screen views, feature usage events, pseudonymous identifiers | Service improvement and usage analytics (Firebase Analytics) | Per Google's policy |
| Subscription payment info | Google Play / App Store purchase token, subscription status and expiry | Verifying paid subscription entitlement | As required by applicable law after the subscription ends |
| Inquiry content | Title, body and attached photos you submit in support inquiries | Responding to your inquiry | Deleted 1 year after the inquiry is resolved |
The device identifier points to a device only; it is not linked to your real name, contact details, or identity. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings (see section 6).
2. AI Summarization and Third-Party (International) Processing
- Phone numbers, emails, account numbers, national ID numbers and addresses contained in message bodies are automatically masked on your device, before they leave the device ([PHONE], [EMAIL], [ACCOUNT], [SSN], [ADDRESS]). The originals of these items are never sent to our servers or to Google.
- What is not masked: To preserve context for the summary, the chat room name and sender display names are transmitted without masking. These are the names shown in your messenger and may contain real names. If you do not use the summary feature, no conversation data leaves your device.
- Only the text processed as described above is sent, via our server (Naver Cloud), to Google LLC's Gemini API to generate the summary.
- Our servers do not store or log the message bodies or the generated summaries. For error handling and usage management, minimal operational records (chat room identifier, message count, timestamp — never the chat room name, sender names, or message bodies) are written to server logs and are deleted within 3 months.
- Under the Gemini API terms, Google does not retain or use this request content to train its models.
- International transfer: In this process, the text may be processed on Google's servers located outside your country (Processor: Google LLC; Country: United States and others; Data: masked message text, chat room name, sender display names; Timing/method: transmitted over the network when you request a summary; Purpose: AI summary generation; Retention: not retained or used for training by Google).
- You may refuse this international transfer, in which case the AI summary feature is unavailable. All other features continue to work normally.
3. Data Storage and Protection
- Local-only storage: Collected conversation content is stored only in the app's internal storage. It is transmitted as described in section 2 solely when you request an AI summary; otherwise conversation data never leaves your device.
- No server retention: We do not store original conversation text on our servers; it passes through transiently for summarization only.
- Access control: Access to systems processing personal information is minimized and access records are retained.
- Encrypted communication: All communication is encrypted and transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS).
4. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, the Service shows advertising, and advertising identifiers may be made available to our ad providers to deliver and measure personalized ads. Under the CCPA/CPRA this may be treated as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out at any time using the device controls described in section 6; opting out does not limit any feature of the Service. Conversation content is never used for advertising.
5. Permissions
- Notification access: Needed to read messenger notifications and collect conversation content (for summaries and deleted-message viewing).
- Exclusion from battery optimization: Needed to continuously receive notifications in the background.
- Notification display: Needed to show notices and event push notifications.
- Photos / storage access: Used only when you attach a photo to a support inquiry; we never access photos you did not select.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; doing so limits only the related feature.
6. Advertising and Analytics
The Service shows advertising to fund its free features and analyzes usage data to improve the product.
- Ad providers: Google LLC (AdMob) and Kakao Corp. (Kakao AdFit). Each provider may directly collect advertising identifiers (ADID/IDFA), device information, and coarse IP-based location for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.
- Analytics: We use Google LLC's Firebase Analytics to collect screen views and feature usage events for statistical analysis. Conversation content is never included in analytics.
- Opting out of personalized ads
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads — reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization.
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking — deny the app's tracking request.
- Opting out does not limit any feature. A paid subscription is available if you prefer an ad-free experience.
- International transfer: Advertising identifiers and usage events may be processed on servers operated by Google LLC (United States and others) and Kakao Corp.; retention follows each provider's policy.
7. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or under 14 where required by local law, such as the Republic of Korea), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If we learn that a child below the applicable age has used the Service, access will be restricted and the related information deleted without undue delay.
8. Your Rights
- You can revoke permissions at any time in your device or app settings.
- Uninstalling the app deletes all data stored on your device.
- For questions, access, or deletion requests regarding your information, contact us via in-app support or the contact below.
